Mary Hill: Still Life Photography

Inspired by local food producers & makers

Mary Hill’s exquisite photography explores the food produced by small businesses and producers in Chester. Her images are inspired by a love of food made with simple fresh ingredients often taken for granted for example fresh bread, cheese, flowers and garlic.

Mary visited shops and growers in Chester and chose a selection of items to tell the story of the city’s food in her own unique way; she also held a still life photography workshop for the public at Bloom & Albion. Her work was shown alongside Simone Cobbold’s Friendship Bowls at Chester’s Watergate Street Gallery.
