Facing North Theatre: Seahorse

Working with the public at open workshops and with Storyhouse’s Chatter and Natter group

Facing North Theatre unpacks stories that examine the human condition. Seahorse followed one man’s attempt to embark on a journey with his son to a new life. What treasured items has he packed into his case? What could he not bear to leave behind? Can familial bonds be kept in place when all around they’re being torn apart? Questions that are all too relevant today.

This promenade performance took the audience on a journey around the public spaces of Storyhouse, exploring the ideas of displacement and relocation, incorporating voices from the people of Chester and, ultimately, challenging our preconceptions of migration by presenting it on our own doorstep.
